In the US

I've wanting to do this for awhile, because I honestly couldn't remember how many states I'd been to, and finally making my first post yesterday prompted me to finally do it.  I found a map of the US online, and went at it in Paint to mark off all the states I've lived, worked, visited, or driven through.  It turns out I've seen more of the US than I thought I had.

I've lived in six states, worked or visited another twenty-one, and driven through an additional seven. So I've been to 34 out of 50 states.

The Itinerary

I've been poking at this thing for ages, and friends and family keep asking me if I'll be blogging my journey, so I figure I need to just get something out here as a starting point.  I got an around the world ticket through Delta and their partners using my Skymiles.  A lot of my stops are open jaw stops - I fly into one city, and then fly out of another, making my own way between the two.

January 9th - 12th, fly from Seattle to Auckland, New Zealand (almost 24 hour layover in Guangzhou, China)
Date TBD fly on a local airline from New Zealand to Australia
February 26th - 27th, fly from Sydney, Australia to Beijing, China
Dates TBD, most likely take trains through China and down to south east Asia.
May 7th, fly from Bangkok, Thailand to Delhi, India
May 22nd, fly from Delhi, India to Istanbul, Turkey (9 hour layover in Moscow)
Backpack through Europe.
August 7th, fly from Paris, France back to the US.

So outside the US for almost seven months, and that may get extended.  I'm trying to keep my plans as flexible as possible, so we'll see.
